"On the Other Side of Fear", by Julia Ferenbacher, is a book for this time, for all hearts, for all ages. It speaks softly, with a grace that is beautifully simple and at the same time profound. The book comes from a deep place within, where the author has explored the landscape of her soul, and shares the sweet insights of Love that she has discovered there. I gifted the book to my daughter and to my sister, and both spoke of how deeply it has resonated with them and touched their lives. I am a yoga and dance teacher, and use her poems and art as inspiration in my classes. What a beautiful gift.....thank you Julia.

Leap to the Center of Yourself

Sitting down with this book is like Julia taking your hand & saying, it's okay love, come with me, & you don't crawl to the center of yourself, you don't walk into your core, you don't even run, Julia asks you to leap with her. As you read the words, as you are falling with her, from the moment your feet lift from the edge with the first line, her words start to peel away all those layers we tend to hide ourselves with sometimes, our half-truths, our masks. So, you're reading & you're falling, & Julia is baring her soul. So she can see herself. So you can see her. All the while encouraging you to do the same. So she can see you. So you can see you. When you get to your center, you're standing naked as eff with her, on the ground, feeling lighter than a leaf & loved, all those stories, all those layers, are scattered all over the ground & your heart is as wide-open as the sky...

It's only then that you realize, that you think, but I don't remember letting go of her hand, but you did.

A perfect bedside companion for morning, noon and night

Julia Fehrenbacher's poetry and artwork touches the very core of my being. Her words, so perfectly placed on the page, cut through the crap and the noise in my head, stirring my soul and gently whispering to me about the Things That Really Matter.

Her work has moved both myself and my husband to tears, and on March 16th this year, I had the honour of having one of her poems be read at my wedding. I have heard Julia be described as a 'modern day Rumi' and to me she is exactly this.

This book is one of my all-time favourite purchases. Do your heart a favour and invest in it.

Superb first-year text

I was looking for a lightly edited book of important philosophical works for my section of Introduction to Philosophy. My section had a lot of science, math, and engineering students in it, and my pedagogical goal was to get these students involved in doing philosophy. I worked through chapters 3, 5, and then 4 over a 12-week (36-hour) course.

The introductory material is very good. It gives some description of the philosophers as people, tries to situate their work in the broader context of the area of philosophy at hand, and gives a brief overview of the structure and key point of the reading. The questions for reflection will take the students deeper into the material. I found these invaluable as I created lectures and sought discussion points.

For my purposes this book a number of small advantages. It is, in many ways, just another introductory anthology. However, works that are excerpted are marked clearly, so there is no illusion that one is reading the whole piece if it has been abridged. Feminist or situated epistemology is integrated within relevant topics, rather than being relegated to a late chapter as a curiosity. The book is inexpensive compared to other comparable anthologies, and the paper and binding reflect that--but it was less expensive than putting together a course package, so it is of great value if you want to put a good book of introductory readings into your students' hands. Finally, it is from a Canadian press, and I thought that was fitting for use at a Canadian university.

I will not hesitate to use the same text if I have the opportunity to teach an introductory metaphysics and epistemology course again.

I loved this book

I received an arc for an honest review.

I loved this book! The story and characters were developed really well. I absolutely loved how strong and independent Harper is, even in her "weaker" moments, she found a way to keep pushing forward. Easton is definitely a handful. He's cocky and a bit arrogant, but I loved it! I really enjoyed how these two interacted with each other!

The storyline flowed really well and I was able to connect with the characters. There was plenty of humor and quite a few twists that I didn't see coming. I did not want to put this one down and I'd definitely recommend it to other readers.

Cute story. I like that we get a lot more from the H&h from book #1 and their story continues since there aren't any epilogues.

♦️WHAT DID NOT WORK FOR ME:
➖Tons of OW drama: H has a long and complicated history with crazy, cheating ex-gf, who still works for him. She jealously confronts h, trying to start trouble, then she claims to be preggers with H's baby (he slipped up and slept with her again 2 months ago, before getting with h). Then comes doc appointment, waiting for paternity test...Causes lotsa tension and strife between H&h, H acts like an jerkface. I just don't wanna read about that OW crap for the ENTIRE book.

➖OM drama: At the beginning, h finds out the guy she's dating is married. She keeps running into him and his wife. Drama causes an argument with H & h at the end.

➖h hires strippers for bachelorette party (for h from book #1) and H doesn't like it....even though he OWNS 2 strip clubs....double standard or what!?! Plus, I'm just not a fan of people in committed relationships watching strippers.

A MUST read!!

C.A.Harms is one of my go to authors. I have loved every word she has written!! And oh man INEVITABLE is no exception. Easton Black is certainly an alpha male in every way. But he is lovable. And his adoration of Harper is adorable. Harper has a past which causes her to distrust men and to push away the good guys. Can Easton break her down? Will bumps in the road split them up? What makes this book even more wonderful is the circle of friends who've become integral to the storyline. They add the fun, humour and a glimpse into what the next book may be about!! I adore this book and this author so it's easy to give my 5 stars~ Rosie
